The Center for Public Integrity on Sunday launched a new e-reader designed to make reading long-form investigative projects easier on digital platforms. The Treesaver e-reader debuted with a global investigation by the Center’s International Consortium of Investigative Journalists into the plundering of the majestic bluefin tuna population by an international black market.

Treesaver was developed by designer Roger Black and developer Filipe Fortes to make reading news stories easier in the digital world. It divides content into pages, automatically adjusting the layout to the size of the screen. It works on any device — a desktop PC or Mac, notebook, netbook, iPad, iPhone or Android smartphone — that has an up to date Web browser. It’s produced with web standards — HTML, CSS and JavaScript — allowing readers to enjoy videos, photos and interactive graphics along with clean, crisp Web text.
