A daily roundup of just-released investigative reports, drawn from oversight agencies, congressional committees, and government offices across Washington.

FINANCIAL STABILIZATION: “Quarterly Report to Congress” (Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program). Details a “tremendous expansion in the scope, scale, and complexity of TARP,” and finds that several components of the program are vulnerable to fraud.

AFGHANISTAN: Key Issues for Congressional Oversight” (Government Accountability Office). Provides background on various issues, including deployment of U.S. forces, economic development, narcotics control, and contractor performance.

IRAQ: “Iraqi Refugee Assistance: Improvements Needed in Measuring Progress, Assessing Needs, Tracking Funds, and Developing an International Strategic Plan” (Government Accountability Office).

FEDERAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: “Office of Personnel Management: Retirement Modernization Planning and Management Shortcomings Need to Be Addressed” (Government Accountability Office).

FINANCIAL CONTROLS: “Government Purchase Card Controls at United States Special Operations Command” (Defense Department’s Inspector General).
