INFORMATION SECURITY: “Internal Controls over Accountable Classified Removable Electronic Media at Oak Ridge National Laboratory” (Energy Department’s Inspector General). A review at ORNL found that some procedures for securing devices with sensitive data were not properly followed.
INFORMATION SECURITY: “Evaluation of the Department of the Interiors Accountability of Desktop and Laptop Computers and their Sensitive Data” (Interior Department’s Inspector General). Finds that the Department, “as a whole, could not account for the computers purchased, as there is no uniform policy for the tracking and chain of custody of portable computer equipment.”
