Ex-Giuliani Bundlers Showing Up on McCain List

By Aaron Mehta | July 22, 2008, 4:00 pm

Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain visited Yankee Stadium over the weekend with former rival Rudy Giuliani. Aside from likely hurting McCain’s standing among Red Sox and Mets fans, the visit was notable because Giuliani used it as a chance to attack Barack Obama’s Mideast trip — perhaps demonstrating to McCain the attack-dog abilities usually desired for a vice-presidential pick.

Of course, Giuliani is already pursuing a much better method of getting in McCain’s good graces: helping channel cash into McCain’s campaign. Since he ended his campaign, 17 of Rudy’s bundlers have started raising money for the McCain campaign. And these aren’t small-time donors — 13 of them have raised at least $100,000 for McCain. Two lobbyists on the list — Peter Terpeluk Jr. and Dirk Van Dongen — have each collected more than $500,000.

Because of the McCain campaign’s reporting style, it’s not clear how much each person has raised, only a general range. What is clear, however, is that the top 13 bundlers have amassed, at an absolute minimum, $3,050,000, and it is possible that they have brought in more than $4.5 million to McCain’s presidential run.

Below is the list of former bundlers for “America’s Mayor” who are now backing McCain, along with the money ranges his campaign has provided.
