Carlos Subero, Venezuela, is the Caracas bureau chief for the daily La Calle.

He is widely credited with being one of the first journalists in Venezuela to use computer-assisted reporting techniques. Subero has also been described as his country’s main advocate of “precision journalism,” which encourages the use of a more scientific methodological approach to reporting. He has reported on his nation’s politics since 1983, and has extensively covered the political elite and the parliaments they head.  Subero often goes beyond reporting the day-to-day news to look at the big picture of Venezuela’s political system.  He is currently working on two projects; one of which looks at the Venezuelan immigration movement to the United States and Canada.
