Key Findings:

  • In an 11-part series, Making a Killing examined the secret industry of war and found at least 90 private military companies that work for governments, corporations, and even criminal groups in 110 countries. While many of these groups serve simply as more cost-effective alternatives to national militaries or international peacekeeping organizations, the Center for Public Integrity revealed some stand to actually profit from the war business, mostly by engaging in the arms trade.
