Key Findings:

• The Center for Public Integrity extends its watchdog journalism in the public interest globally through its International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). Created in 1997, the one-of-a-kind ICIJ network includes 100 of the world’s leading investigative reporters and editors in 50 countries. The group has collaborated on numerous online, print, and electronic media reports on corporate crime, arms trafficking, terrorism, U.S. military policy, and human rights abuses.

• ICIJ provides the Center an unmatched opportunity to mount major global investigations. Even the best journalists, when working within the confines of their national borders, know they cannot adequately reveal and explain many pressing issues, such as cross-border corruption, big money’s influence on war, the global environment, and the food we eat. Only a network that allows for collaborative, cross-border investigations can do that.
