A 2009 National Nuclear Security Administration YouTube video describes the Mixed Oxide (MOX) plant as "the cornerstone of America's nuclear nonproliferation program." Some of the film is outdated: the Pit Disassembly facility for grinding the plutonium "pits" in nuclear warheads was cancelled due to rising costs. While the narrator says the plant will cost $4.8 billion, the figure was recently revised to $7.7 billion.
