OSHA fact 12

Asbestos, the toxic mineral used for decades as insulation in buildings and heat-resistant material in products, causes about 2,700 deaths a year from mesothelioma, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Thousands more who breathed in the fibers die annually from lung cancer or asbestosis, the EWG Action Fund estimates. Even now, workers can be exposed — mechanics working on automotive brakes, for instance. Image from the Noun Project/ Josh.
