We surveyed readers who contracted tick- and mosquito-borne diseases as part of our reporting on health epidemics and climate change. This is what we learned: 

We heard from back from 322 people in 36 states. 

Diseases reported: Alpha gal syndrome, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Anaplasmosis, Bartonella, Dengue fever, Ehrlichiosis, Encephalitis, Lyme Disease, Rheumatic Fever, Babesiosis, Mycoplasma, Tularemia, tick-borne relapsing fever, West Nile Virus

Symptoms reported from the various illnesses: Anaphylaxis, hives, fever, rashes, diarrhea, fatigue, arthritis, muscle and joint pain, flu-like symptoms, headaches and migraines, gastrointestinal issues, vomiting, nausea, swelling
